Terms and Conditions for MyWordz®

1. About Us

MyWordz® is owned and operated by The Reading Hut Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom.

For Australian customers purchasing via purchase order in Australian dollars, services may be supplied and invoiced by The Reading Hut Australia (ABN 94 542 903 967) on behalf of The Reading Hut Ltd.

Throughout these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the applicable supplying entity. “You” refers to the purchasing teacher, school, organisation or authorised user.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By purchasing, accessing or using MyWordz®, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not purchase or use the service.

3. Subscription and Access
 

Membership Duration

The web version subscription provides one web login for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

All access operates on a single annual membership cycle. When the cycle ends, access to the web version and any associated app licences ends. A new membership must be purchased to continue access.
 

App Licences

When setting up the web login, teachers may purchase additional app licences. App licences may also be added at any time during the 12-month membership cycle.

Additional licences run only until the end of the existing membership period. They do not begin a new 12-month cycle. For example, if an app licence is added in month 11, it will remain active only for the final month of that membership cycle.
 

Intended Use

The web version is designed for use by teachers, for example on a classroom whiteboard or other teaching device.

App licences may be added for pupil use on iPads or other devices. There is no access to account or membership information within the MyWordz® for Members apps.

Access to the members’ app is provided via a private link in the App Store or Google Play. Devices are logged in using the account holder’s email address and password. Pupils do not access account credentials. Devices may remain logged in for classroom use.

Subscriptions are licensed for educational use only and must not be shared beyond the licensed user or institution.
 

4. Payment and Pricing

Pricing is displayed at the point of purchase.

UK purchases are subject to applicable UK VAT where required.

Australian purchases may include GST in accordance with Australian tax requirements.

Where purchases are made via The Reading Hut Australia (ABN 94 542 903 967), invoices will be issued in Australian dollars and GST will be applied where applicable.

We reserve the right to amend pricing for future subscription periods.
 

5. Licence Grant

Upon payment, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use MyWordz® for the duration of your active subscription.

This licence does not transfer ownership of the software, content, branding or intellectual property.
 

6. Intellectual Property

All content, software, algorithms, branding, trade marks, and materials associated with MyWordz® remain the property of The Reading Hut Ltd.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit any part of the service without prior written permission.

MyWordz® and MySpeekie® are registered trade marks.
 

7. Account Responsibility

The account holder is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials.

You agree not to share login details outside your licensed use.

We reserve the right to suspend access where misuse, unauthorised sharing or breach of these Terms is identified.
 

8. Service Availability

We aim to ensure the service is available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may update, modify or improve the service at any time.

Temporary suspension may occur for maintenance or technical reasons.
 

9. Refunds and Cancellations

As MyWordz® is a digital subscription service providing immediate access, refunds are not generally offered once access has been granted, unless required by applicable consumer law.

Subscriptions do not automatically renew unless explicitly stated at the point of purchase.

Access ends at the conclusion of the 12-month membership cycle unless renewed.
 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from use of MyWordz® shall be limited to the amount paid for the subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
 

11. Data Protection

We do not create student accounts and do not collect student personal data through the platform.

Teacher and school contact information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
 

12. Governing Law

Where the supplying entity is The Reading Hut Ltd, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Where the supplying entity is The Reading Hut Australia (ABN 94 542 903 967), these Terms are governed by the laws of the relevant Australian state or territory.
